Congratulations Inside Out!
Disney Pixar's film Inside Out won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature last Sunday (February 28) and all I can say to them is CONGRATULATIONS! Well deserved.I'm sure Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust are having quite a party celebrating inside Riley's head right now!
Thanks to the amazing pair behind this wonderful story, Pete Docter and Jonas Rivera for bringing such a beautiful and touching story about growing up and life's changes, you truly created a masterpiece.
All your work, researches, consults with psychologists, and creative minds developed this idea and this beautiful story, hope they keep coming up with stories like this one because they are truly talented and what I like the most about them is that they took a risk and innovated with a theme in a way nobody had done it before and ended up building something unique.
Let's recall that Inside Out had won the BAFTA Award, Golden Globe Award, Critic's Choice Award, Annie Award and Satellite Award for Best Animated Feature.
Also praise to the notable work of Ronnie del Carmen (co-director with Pete Docter), Meg LeFauve and Josh Cooley (co-writers with Pete Docter), voice cast: Amy Poehler (Joy), Phyllis Smith (Sadness), Bill Hader (Anger), Lewis Black (Fear), Mindy Kaling (Disgust) and Kaitlyn Dias (Riley). And as always, to the talented and amazing animators and character supervisors behind the screens who work for hours to create these beautiful scenarios, characters and sequences.
And of course to John Lasseter.
I couldn't think of any other movie that deserved this recognition more than this movie. It touched my heart and made me cry from beginning to end because it connected with me and I felt identified with Riley at some points because I had experienced things that she was going through in the movie.
And it made me realize that I was not a child anymore and how you change while growing up, how you stop being goofy and funny and you think everything about life is all happy and when you grow up you become more reserved and you find out that life is not as good and happy as you thought it was.
“This film was really born out of watching our kids grow up, which is not easy. Anyone out there who’s in junior high, high school, working it out, suffering — there are days you’re going to feel sad. You’re going to feel angry. You’re going to feel scared. That’s nothing you can choose. But you can make stuff. Make films. Draw. Write. It will make a world of difference.” - Director Pete Docter’s Oscar acceptance speech for Best Animated Feature Film of 2016.This is Pixar's 8th film to receive the statue (previously won by Finding Nemo (2003) The Incredibles (2004) Ratatouille (2007) Wall-E (2008) Up (2009) Toy Story 3 (2010) and Brave (2012))
More successes to come for the Disney and Pixar's company, after all, you never disappoint (or at least almost never, haha) All the love, good vibes and ideas!
